The Course

One of the most important challenges of societies is the understanding and identification of Intercultural Issues which can present many different barriers for students, staff, teachers and professionals.  Intercultural issues will involve all project stakeholders, at all stages of mobility, even more when there are different partners from different countries during the mobility phase. Teachers and school staff who want to manage an European project, need to understand that cultural differences can pose difficulties if they don’t consider religion, culture, beliefs and needs of the participant or partners they work with. Understanding intercultural issues takes place at all stages of the mobility cycle but the two most important times are before the mobility and during the mobility.

Objectives

The overall objective of this course is to strengthen the relevance of intercultural competences in European mobility projects as well as in other fields and provide information and tips on how to prevent obstacles to successful relations due to intercultural differences and misunderstanding. Work on intercultural competences in EU mobilities programmes, in particular, is a useful tool to maximize the benefits of mobility.
